GC45 Day 10 and 11

The last two days have absolutely flown by. It’s been a cycle of eating, sleeping, and mentally preparing for the commitment ahead. I’ve been trying to stay grounded while gearing up for what’s next.

•              Lunch (both days): Brulotte’s corn — three ears per meal. Sweet, simple, and satisfying.

•              Supper yesterday: Pasta at The Fat Olive — always a solid choice.

•              Tonight’s supper: A hearty United Church beef meat pie from my freezer. Comfort food at its finest.

This morning I took a breather and joined the weekly Mahjong session at the senior’s center. As always, it was enjoyable, but I’ll admit my mind wasn’t fully in the game — and the results reflected that. Still, it was a great time and a welcome pause.

My bags are nearly packed, just waiting on the final load of laundry. Tomorrow is “Wear Black Day” at GC45. I’m not entirely sure of the significance, but it does make choosing my travel outfit refreshingly simple.

•              ✅ Flight confirmed

•              ✅ Boarding pass in hand

•              ✅ Transportation secured

According to the online agenda, my only real free time appears to be on the 12th, between hotel checkout and my 11:35 pm flight home.

I’ll attempt to post daily updates during the conference — no promises of Pulitzer-worthy reporting, but I’ll do my best to share the experience.
