Meals for Today
Breakfast was simply Toast with Peanut Butter and Jam
Lunch at Peppermoon Restaurant & Bar 1100 Commissioners Rd E, London, ON N5Z 4W8. I was planning to try The Coop Supply Co. Restaurant & Catering at the old Archies Fish and Chips site but as it does not open until 3 p.m. this was next door and as I never knew of its existence I took the plunge. It was a pleasant experience. Service was pleasant and prompt. Food was delicious (clam chowder and Greek salad) but on the high side of reasonable.
Supper was cook at home a Cuban Pork with Cauliflower Rice a Keto meal from Ketolibriyum supplemented with a serving of Arctic Gardens Bistro Veggies from Nortera Foods. Dessert was ½ a Keto Pecan Tart also from Ketolibriyum. Delicious.
Todays Log
The day started with an early coffee plus toast and peanut butter sandwich then off to the Lions Senior Center for Weekly Mahjong. After six weeks of beginner sessions (I missed one) and last weeks all day marathon (9 am to 5 pm with potluck lunch) this was my first opportunity to be integrated into the mainstream. I chose the mild (low experience friendly game) stream as opposed to the spicy (experienced competitive game) stream and the morning was off. While for the whole morning I was not on my best game I did enjoy and although a bit overwhelmed did enjoy the experience.
Back in my car at noon, while deciding what to do for lunch, I checked my phone and saw that I had a 12:30 Foot Nurse appointment here in the Lions Senior Center. Out of the car and back into the building to get my feet looked at, nails and calluses trimmed and smoothed, legs massaged, and wallet lightened of $60. Later today I will submit the paid receipt to my health insurance for a $48 reimbursement, for net cost of $12.
One of my objective’s for today is a trip to Ketolibriyum to stock up my larder with meals and treats. Considering the options available I added a stop at the former Archies Restaurant on Commissioners Drive as a restaurant I had always wanted to try. As mentioned in my meals section this did not work out but I did get to try a new location and then on to Ketolibriyum. A small pickup of three meals, some Shawarma Chicken (4 serving pack) to freeze in individual portions to provide later meals with my own side dishes and three impulse buys of Crackers, Granola and a Keto Pecan Tart.
On the way home my mandatory daily stop at the Frozen Cow for my daily “kids scoop in a regular cone no gummy” todays flavour Moose Tracks.
The rest of the day was spent in my apartment, some computer work, some TV, some work on accumulating and documenting details for my upcoming discussions with CRA, some reading and studying work for GC45 and of course preparing and eating supper.
Of note was in the late afternoon, while sitting in front of the TV (possibly watching through closed eyelids), I was roused by the sound of hail on my Balcony Patio door. We were in the middle of a violent storm. The hail and rain were so hard coming in visible waves swirling around the trees hard enough to impact visibility. Not thinking about what I would do I ran down to the back door realizing that I had parked the Thunderbird in the covered carport with the top down. I stood in the back door and watched the storm rage. Much to much to even think about masking a dash across the parking lot. Long story short, when I did get to the car the inside was completely dry and protected. While at the car, I did put the top up as a precaution to further weather, but the covered area did its job.
