Mary and Keith's
Excellent Adventure
2003
July 30, 2003 -Fort Macleod to Medicine Hat
Back on the road again. From our country site outside of Fort Macleod we left about 10:30 with no particular destination in mind. Our first stop was 50 Km down the road in Lethbridge. Following the suggestion of the CAA handbook we visited the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. This was another winner. In fact all but one of today's photos are of this garden and it is hoped that they convey some of the beauty and the peacefulness that radiated from this location. We pushed for Medicine Hat for lunch and my craving for cheap Mexican food. Taco Time it was. After lunch we were both tired we moved into the City Run campground to a beautiful pull through site overlooking a great view of the city and some natural bluffs. A one-hour trip to a local Ford Dealer and the oil was changed for the last dash for home. Great service at a reasonable price. After a rest at the campsite we did an outing to the Great Canadian Superstore for some needed supplies and then on to the Beefeater for some magnificent Alberta Prime Rib with all the trimmings. After supper we found the Casino and even though the recipient of the income was a local high school band Mary and I managed to leave on the plus side. One advantage was our first $2.00 Blackjack table - a rarity in Canada and a pleasure for social players like the two of us. Back to the 5vr before 11 PM. Pleasant relaxing day.
