Another new record we were on the road by 9 AM. Mary did not sleep well so slept most of today. This was a travel day from Cypress Hills back to the Trans Canada with a stop for gas and coffee at Maple Creek (No coffee maker at camp). TransCanada to Calgary. Shifting Terrain but other than that Mary slept and I drove. A stop for lunch at a popular Petro Canada near Medicine Hat and then on to Calgary. As we neared our destination we started phoning for camping spots, as the Stampede is just finishing today. The KOA would not take reservations and only had non serviced spots available, a camp on the west side of Calgary had only electrical available for two nights but we found one on the east side that could give us full service. By taking a 15-amp site I was even able to get a site I could pull into through another unoccupied site - still have not had to back into a site. We got in and got set up - turned on the TV and watched the afternoon bull riding competition at the stampede. Best seats in the house. We read some and then went to a recommended local Inn for some Alberta Beef - Had an excellent supper including a "Wrangler Yorkie" appetizer. Prime Rib thinly sliced, wrapped in Yorkshire pudding and covered with gravy served with a horseradish sauce garnish. Quite good but it was enough for a meal for the two of us. We had some boxed up for later. After supper we came back to the trailer where we watched the finals of the Calgary Stampede and Mary smocked some and I worked on the web page.
